AXA IM makes double hire for global credit team

/sites/default/files/images/stories/fe/News_images/Axa_building.jpgInvestment Managers has made a double hire to its global credit team, adding a portfolio manager and solutions strategist.

Charles Fianko joins the Paris-headquartered firm as a portfolio manager from June 29 having been a member of the Climate Change Investment Committee at Lloyds of London.

During this period, he tailored corporate strategy to deal with climate change risks within investment holdings. He has also worked at F&C Asset Management and RBS.

In his new role, Fianko will be responsible for managing global credit portfolios, assisting in delivering outperformance and cashflow for wholesale and institutional clients.

AXA IM has also hired Monique Carter as a solutions strategist.

She joined in May from Insight Investment as an investment specialist working within fixed income.

Carter has also worked at Jupiter Asset Management, RAB Capital and BNY Mellon.

In her new role, she will be designing and tailoring solutions to meet client needs. This includes within sustainable and cashflow driven investments.

Speaking on the new appointments, Lionel Pernias, head of fixed income investment solutions at AXA IM Core, said: “We are always looking at ways we can improve our offering for clients and these two new hires bring a depth of investment experience and client experience to help as our Buy & Maintain platform continues to grow.

“Our fixed income solutions, with full ESG and climate integration, is helping our clients access the investment grade credit markets in a cost-efficient and responsible manner and Charles and Monique will be paramount to continuing the success of this service."
