Axa IM hires head of wholesale for Germany and Austria

Axa Investment Managers (Axa IM) has appointed Andreas Hecker as head of wholesale for Germany and Austria, succeeding Uwe Diehl who left the firm last year.

Hecker reports to André Thali, head client group for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, who temporarily managed the wholesale tasks following Diehl’s departure.

Prior to joining Axa IM, Hecker worked for BNP Paribas Asset Management as senior sales manager and director in the German wholesale team.

Other roles include senior sales manager and director retail sales at BlackRock in Germany, as well as fourteen years at Credit Suisse as portfolio manager in Frankfurt and Zurich.

Thali said: “His ability to optimally communicate the strategies and approaches of our fund management, as well as meet the needs of our clients and reflect them in the company, is something we see as a very important advantage in the industry.”
