Axa Investment Managers is to re-organise its responsible investment research function, appointing two departmental heads.
From March 1, Virginie Derue will lead the responsible investment research team, focusing on issues such as climate and biodiversity.
Clémence Humeau will lead coordination and governance, a team responsible for projects in corporate governance, Covid-19, public health and data privacy among other areas.
Derue, a fromer EY auditor, joined Axa IM in 1998. Among previous positions at the firm, she was senior credit fixed income portfolio manager between 2006 and 2011, and head of credit book for Axa Group. Most recently, she was appointed coordinator of corporate credit research.
Humeau also comes from an audit background, having worked at PWC. She joined Axa IM in 2012 as strategic auditor before becoming chief of staff to the CEO in 2013. She became responsible investment coordinator in 2018.
Both women report directly to Gilles Moëc, who is Axa IM’s head of research Axa Group’s chief economist.
“This evolution completes the incorporation of all responsible investment activities into the standard investment, reporting, oversight and control processes of Axa IM, with Axa IM Alts and Axa IM Core being accountable for leading the way,” said Marco Morelli, executive chairman of Axa IM.
