AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed a portfolio manager to serve on the firm’s equity technology team.
Effective immediately, Brad Reynolds has joined the team to co-manage the recently launched £30 million AXA WF Metaverse fund.
Reynolds will work alongside Pauline Llandric, lead portfolio manager for the Metaverse strategy, from 1 January 2023.
The fund invests in companies that contribute towards the convergence of the digital and physical world.
In his new role, Reynolds will also support existing robotech, digital economy, and global technology strategies and mandates.
He will report to Tom Riley, who serves as head of global thematic strategies for AXA IM Equity.
Riley said: “He [Reynolds] brings with him strong experience in fundamental analysis and understanding disruptive and changing technologies coupled with an investment mindset that is aligned with our AXA IM Equity fundamental quality growth investment process and philosophy.”
Prior to joining AXA IM, Reynolds served as an investment analyst for Polar Capital. During his 11-year career with the firm, Reynolds worked within Polar Capital’s technology team for eight years, where he focused on high growth companies within the internet and software sub-sectors.
He was also responsible for discovering technology disruption ideas, outside the traditional tech sector.
Previously, Reynolds served as an equity long/short analyst at Ratio Asset Management.
He has also held positions at FC Partners LLP and Gartmore Investment Management.
AXA IM’s appointment of Reynolds follows the addition of two new hires to the firm’s responsible investment line-up, earlier this month.
