Asset Management One International names CIO

Gianni Casella has been appointed as chief investment officer at Asset Management One International (AMOI), the UK-based arm of the Japanese investment firm.

Casella takes over from Eiichi Watani who is returning to Tokyo after five years in London.

Casella was previously head of fixed income at AMOI having begun his career in the fixed income team at Mizuho International and then moving to the fixed income investment team at AMOI’s previous entity DIAM International.

His appointment coincides with AMOI’s ambition to grow its presence in the Emea market, underlined by the addition of Andrea Favaloro as head of business development Emea earlier this year.

Asset Management One (AMO) chief executive Toru Yoshibe said: “With a long serving career at the firm, [Casella] will add further regional flavour to the AMO group as we plan to expand our global presence and enhance our investment proposition for global and regional investors.”
