French asset manager Amundi has appointed Stanislas Pottier as chief responsible investment officer.
The newly created position is an indication of the mainstreaming and increased importance of environmental, social and governance criteria in asset management.
Pottier was previously global head for sustainable development at Crédit Agricole and a member of its management committee since 2017, following stints as a special advisor to French politicians including former prime minister, Michel Rocard.
He is a member of the Livelihoods Carbon Fund and chairs a voluntary association for the promotion of low-carbon buildings.
Amundi has over €1.4 trillion in assets under management.
