Amundi green bond fund raises over $1 billion

Over $1.2 billion (€1 billion) has been committed to Amundi’s new green bond fund within weeks of its launch.

The Amundi Planet Emerging Green One fund invests in green bonds issued by financial institutions active in emerging markets. It is the first green bond fund focused on emerging markets.

Amundi launched the Luxembourg-domiciled fund in October in partnership with IFC, a member of the World Banks Group. The book-building period is set to close in February 2018.

Yves Perrier, chief executive of Amundi, said: “Our goal is to help investors to take into account more and more environmental, social and governance and climate change factors in their investment portfolios.”

The fund is registered for sale in the Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Amundi has €1.4 trillion in assets under management.
