Amundi closes private debt fund

Amundi, which created a private debt business in 2012 in a sign of how asset managers are filling the lending gap since the retreat of the banks, has raised €665 million for a senior private debt fund that will finance European companies.

The Paris-based asset manager said the money was raised from 13 institutional investors.

The Amundi Dette Senior FPE III will support companies in Europe with a turnover of €75 million.

Amundi also said it is launching a new expertise in private real estate debt management as part of its private debt business line, which falls under Amundi’s real and alternative assets division.

Pedro-Antonio Arias, director of real and alternative assets, says the addition of the real estate debt management capability means the company offers a “complete range of real estate solutions”.
