Amundi appoints Austria chief exec

French asset manager Amundi has appointed Gabriele Tavazzani as chief executive of the firm’s Austrian business.

He takes over the helm of Amundi Austria from Werner Kretschmer, who has left the company for personal reasons but will remain as an advisor, according to the fund house.

Prior to joining Amundi Austria, Tavazzani was chief executive, president of the management board, and chief investment officer of Amundi Polska (Poland) from 2015 to 2018.

Before that he held the position of deputy chief executive officer and board member of Amundi Italy SGR SpA from 2009 to 2015.

With over 20 years’ experience, he has also held various roles in the Crédit Agricole Group in Italy, which he joined in 1996.
