Alter Domus launches AIFM in Ireland

Specialist fund administrator Alter Domus has announced the launch of a third-party alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) and specialised depositary service in Ireland.

The move follows the firm’s acquisition of Beechbrook Capital’s Irish AIFM, which it said would help increase capital flows between North America and Europe.

The Irish depositary service for alternative investment funds will complement existing capabilities in Luxembourg, the UK, and Malta, said Alter Domus.

Speaking to Funds Europe earlier this month, Alter Domus said new European cross-border marketing rules make AIFM passporting rights an increasingly attractive means for marketing in Europe.

According to the firm, its operations in Ireland have doubled in size over the last 12 months. Alter Domus currently holds $113 billion (€94.6 bilion) in assets under depositary for global private debt, private equity, real estate and infrastructure investors and managers.
