Alter Domus expands Irish presence

Ireland’s funds industry is set to add 100 jobs after specialist fund administrator Alter Domus announced plans to increase headcount.

The jobs will be added in the firm’s Cork headquarters, which acts as its European hub for servicing alternative assets.

In addition, Alter Domus is building new office space in Cork and investing more in an existing partnership with local universities that will see its intake of student interns double this year.

The move brings Alter Domus’s total Irish headcount to 280 after it recruited 80 people in 2020.

More than 700 people were added to the firm’s workforce in 2020 after a number of acquisitions amid growing investor interest in private assets.

The recruitment has been welcomed by Ireland’s Taoiseach (prime minister) Michael Martin who referred to the country’s “rich pool of talent” and forecast “even greater opportunities in the financial services sector for years to come”.
