AllianceBernstein hires EM debt manager for new role

AllianceBernstein has hired Hardeep Dogra to a newly created position as fund manager for emerging market debt.

Dogra joins from BNP Paribas Asset Management where he was a lead portfolio manager for the firm’s EM Sovereign Hard Currency Fund, which has around $4 billion (€3.6 billion) of assets under management.

Dogra will report to Shamaila Khan, director of emerging market debt, who said: “Emerging market debt has posted strong returns so far this year, but we’re cognisant that there are a number of idiosyncratic risks across the asset class that need to be navigated.”

Previous roles of Dogra’s include at Schroder Investment Management, where he was portfolio manager running absolute-return funds, as well as an actively managed currency fund.

He has also worked at Goldman Sachs as an interest rate strategist and credit analyst.
