JO Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) is to launch a European equity fund and has recruited two former Thames River Capital fund managers to run it.
The JOHCM All Europe Dynamic Growth Fund is due to be launched in late February and will be managed by Trygve Toraasen, senior manager, and Carlos Moreno, fund manager.
At Thames River they managed the Thames River European Dynamic Growth Fund. Prior to Thames River, both managers were employed by Fidelity Investments, where they worked together for five years. Toraasen served with Fidelity for 14 years in a number of fund management roles including that of manager of the Fidelity European Dynamic Growth Fund from February 2001 to August 2008.
Under him this fund generated a cumulative return of 61.7%, net of fees and in sterling terms. The MSCI Europe (Net) index and the Lipper Global Equity Europe peer group returned 29.2% and 13.7% respectively.
The All Europe Dynamic Growth Fund will be an addition to JOHCM’s existing European equities fund range that includes the JOHCM European, JOHCM Continental European and JOHCM European Select Values funds.
