Gervais Williams to get Henderson Fledgling Trust back

The ailing Henderson Fledgling Trust is to be merged into the Diverse Income Trust, managed by Gervais Williams and Martin Turner.

Subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, the move will see Williams return to the trust he managed for 10 years from 2001 when at Gartmore.

Performance data on Henderson Global Investor’s website shows the £75 million (€86.9 million) Henderson Fledgling Trust was trading at a 8.63% discount on February 15.

Miton’s Diverse Income Trust is trading on a 4.4% premium and has a market capitalisation of £126 million. A year and a half since its launch, it has had two C share issues and seen its assets rise by more than £60 million.
