Elizabeth Corley to receive Women in Hedge Funds award

Elizabeth Corley, CBE, the chief executive officer of Allianz Global Investors, will be presented with a hedge fund award from an organisation that recognises women in the industry.

Corley will receive the 100 Women in Hedge Funds 2015 European Industry Leadership Award in October.

The 100 Women in Hedge Funds, or 100WHF, identifies a woman each year whose “professional talent, business ethics and passion for investing help define and advance the hedge fund industry’s standards of excellence”, the organisation says.

Kathryn Graham, chair of 100WHF London and head of strategy co-ordination at the Universities Superannuation Scheme, says: “In a year when 100WHF is [themed] ‘Celebrating Education – Investing in the Next Generation’, we are pleased to recognise a woman who is passionate about mentoring the future leaders of the industry.”

Corley was awarded a CBE in the 2015 New Year’s Honours.

100WHF is a global, non-profit organisation for practitioners formed in 2001 and whose activities include philanthropy. Net proceeds from the London Gala in October, when Corley receives the award, will be given to The Art Room, a charity aimed at 5-16-year olds who are experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
