Global bank Citi has hired Simon Kempton and Daniel Caplan from Deutsche Bank, to join its investor services franchise in the Europe, the Middle-East and Africa (Emea) region.
Kempton joins as Emea head of prime finance and will be responsible for driving the growth of Citi’s Prime Finance platform throughout the region. He will report to Chris Cox, Emea head of investor services and Adam Herrmann, who joined Citi from UBS earlier this year as global head of prime finance. In his new role Kempton replaces Mark Harrison, Citi’s previous head of prime finance.
Daniel Caplan will take up the newly created role of Emea head of investor services sales. He will be responsible for building and leading Citi’s regional sales and client executive strategy across all investor services products. He will report to Alan Pace, global head of sales for investor services, and Murray Roos, who joined Citi earlier this year in the newly created role of global head of sales for equities and prime finance.
Kempton joins Citi from Deutsche Bank where he worked as head of international prime brokerage for the past nine years. He previously held the position of chief operating officer of Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management unit.
Caplan has over 15 years of industry experience and was most recently Deutsche Bank’s European head of global prime finance.
