Citi appoints Chris Cox as Emea securities services head

Citi has appointed a head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) securities services from within its organisation.

Chris Cox, who joined Citi in 1991, previously was head of markets in Australia and now leads Emea investor services and direct custody and clearing.

Cox is based in London and reports to Okan Pekin, global head of investor services, Lee Waite, global head of direct custody and clearing, and Lea Arduini, Emea head of markets.

His key priorities will be to build profitability, grow client penetration and improve organisational efficiency.

Since joining Citi, Cox has held various roles in investment banking, debt capital markets and trading, both in Asia and London. He took up the markets role in 2012 and, according to Citi, was “instrumental in growing the markets franchise to a top three position in all product lines across fixed income and equities”.
