You will be speaking at the panel ‘How leading fund selectors are shifting their allocations preferences in sustainable, impact and thematic funds’. Could you give us some insight into how preferences are shifting?

Sustainable investments and the impact of Munich Re’s investments are two topical subjects in the strategy and operations of a reinsurance company. The effects from climate change have a direct impact on decisions and the future of a company like ours as a risk-taker and investor. That is why we have added to our intensive endeavours even further.

In the investment space we have increased our climate and carbon-reduction efforts, and when investing, emphasise the importance of working with partners aligned with our views. In the recent year, decarbonisation has advanced significantly through projects, planning, and intensive discussions to find a good and effective way forward together. We have sharpened our requirements on climate-related reporting, carbon emission investment steering and other climate-related topics. The collaboration with our internal and external asset managers as well as with other partners has brought us valuable insights and helped us move forward to a more sustainable future.
