Aberdeen and Robeco in the digital age

Aberdeen Asset Management’s recent purchase of Parmenion Capital Partners to boost its digital ambitions comes some nine months after Aberdeen hired Rob Hudson to a newly created role focusing on distribution to direct retail customers.

How to utilise digital in the direct retail segment is a key question for Hudson, previously of Charles Stanley Direct, who sheds some light on Aberdeen’s thinking around digital and retail expansion in the latest issue of Funds Europe (September 2015).

An interview with Hudson can be read here.

In the same article we also speak to Robeco, who tell us how it uses digital avenues to connect with the direct retail market – a move crucial to the firm since 2012 when the Holland-based fund manager took its direct-to-consumer sales effort completely online.
