Lyxor adds market-neutral equity fund to alt Ucits platform

France’s Lyxor Asset Management and New York-based Academy Investment Management are launching a systematic market-neutral global equity fund that uses wide data sets to minimise risk.

The fund will be distributed from Lyxor’s alternative Ucits platform and will use traditional data, such as price and volume, as well as non-technical alternative data sets to optimise the fund to minimise sector, industry, country, and liquidity risk.

The Lyxor/Academy Quantitative Global Ucits Fund is registered in Ireland and currently passported in ten countries. Investors will gain exposure to around 3,600 large-cap and mid-cap stocks in 23 equity markets across the globe.

“Market-neutral strategies have become increasingly popular as investors seek to access sources of diversification and uncorrelated returns to both traditional asset classes and hedge fund strategies,” said Nathanael Benzaken, chief client officer at Lyxor.

A minimum subscription of €100,000 (class I) and €10,000 (class A) is required by the fund, which is the twelfth fund on Lyxor’s alternative Ucits platform. The platform has assets under management to $4.6 billion (€4.1 billion).
