Insight appoints head of real assets

Global investment manager Insight Investment has hired Detlef Schoen as head of real assets to its farmland investment team in London.

Schoen will lead the development of Insight’s global farmland proposition, with responsibility for Insight’s team of farmland investment specialists.

Before joining Insight in August, Schoen was an agricultural and agribusiness investment manager, looking after institutional investors through his own advisory business.

He replaces Reza Vishkai who continues to advise and provide oversight to the farmland investment team in a newly-created consultative role.

Abdallah Nauphal, chief executive officer of Insight, said: “It is our enduring belief that the case for investing in farmland as a source of attractive income and long-term capital gains for institutional investors is extremely compelling.”
