Standard Life, the Edinburgh-based insurance company, has added twelve core index fundsmanaged by Vanguard to its pensions platform.
The Scottish insurer is the first defined contribution provider to offer funds from Vanguard Investment UK, a fund manager owned by America’s Vanguard Group, and which entered the UK market in 2009.
Available to both retail and corporate clients, the bond and equity index funds have been available since 16 December, with the exception of the SL Vanguard US Equity Pension Fund, which will become available from the end of January 2012.
Worldwide assets of the Vanguard Group total $1.7 trillion (€1.3 trillion).
