Schroders’ Michael Dobson joins FCA practitioner panel

Michael Dobson, chief executive of Schroders, has recently joined the practitioner panel of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), one of the regulators that replaces the Financial Services Authority this year.

Dobson and Alison Brittain, group director of retail at Lloyds Banking Group, replace former members.

The FCA has made several other appointments.

Graham Beale, chief executive of Nationwide Building Society, is now practitioner panel chairman.

Andrew Turberville Smith, finance director and chief operating officer of Weatherbys Bank, is now smaller business practitioner panel chairman.

Paul Swann, president and managing director, ICE Clear Europe, is markets practitioner panel chairman.

The FCA says all three practitioner panels will provide input and challenge at an early stage to policy developments.

The FCA and the Prudential Regulation Authority come into force in April this year.
