Schroders has made two hires within its Multi-asset Investments and Portfolio Solutions (Maps) business, appointing Chris Hsia as product manager and Mei Huang as quantitative analyst.
Hsia joins Schroders from Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 16 years. His previous roles include chief investment officer for the banking divison of Morgan Stanley and head of investment products and solutions for international wealth management within the same group.
As Maps product manager, Hsia will drive the product-led communications of a selection of Maps strategies and will report to Henriette Bergh, head of UK and European product & manager solutions.
He will work with Schroders regional product managers and the relevant consultant and distribution teams to ensure that Schroders’ clients have access to the information they require.
Mei Huang joins Schroders from the global equities research division of HSBC Asset Management. Prior to this she worked at AQR Capital Management as portfolio manager within the Global Stock Selection (GSS) team, where she co-managed AQR’s global equities funds and strategies.
Huang will report to Peter Weidner, head of advanced beta, multi-asset quantitative research and will be responsible for researching and constructing advanced beta equity strategies.
Nico Marais, head of Maps, says that strengthening interactions with clients around investment outcomes and building advanced beta capabilities are key initiatives for the firm.
The Maps business manages £75.5 billion (€107.5 billion) on behalf of its clients globally, as at June 30, 2015.
