Schroder Real Estate has appointment Jourdan Rajwan as an investment manager, with a focus on Central London investment and occupational markets.
Schroders says it has seen significant growth in its real estate business, including in UK funds such as the Schroder REIT (real estate investment trust), the open-ended Schroder UK Real Estate Fund and the West End of London Property Unit Trust (Welput), the specialist Central London fund.
Rajwan’s appointment reflects Schroders wider business expansion in this space. He will report to Nick Montgomery, head of UK investment, Schroder Real Estate, and will support him in implementing the strategy for Welput, where the firm says there is a high level of activity following a recent £160 million (€223.7 million) capital raise.
In his new role, Rajwan will also be responsible for identifying and executing Central London transactions, to be acquired by existing clients and partners of Schroder Real Esate.
Prior to joining Schroders, Rajwan worked at JLL, a financial and professional services firm specialising in real estate services and investment management, where he specialised in Central London investment and ocupational markets. He has previously been involved in high profile transactions with the firm, such as the £381 million disposal of the Pollen Estate in Mayfair.
Schroders currently has £11.7 billion (€15.1 billion) of gross real estate assets under management, as at December 31, 2014.
