Russell launches A-shares multi-manager fund

Russell Investments has launched a China multi-manager fund investing in the restricted, domestic A-shares market.

The Russell China A Equity fund invests in China through the qualified foreign institutional investor quota.

As a multi manager fund, its assets are invested in a number of different managers. At launch the portfolio comprises two high-conviction managers and a large-cap investment strategy portfolio.

The two external managers are Beijing Runhui Asset Management and Bank of Communications Schroder Fund Management.

However, Russell said the fund structure would evolve over time. A third manager is expected to be added in the coming months.

The fund is supported by a Shanghai-based manager research team through Russell’s joint venture Ping An Russell Investment Management.
