Old Mutual’s Asia push

Carol Wong will join Old Mutual Global Investors as managing director and head of distribution for Asia in November, having spent 15 years at BNP Investment Partners in Hong Kong.

Reporting to Warren Tonkinson, head of global distribution, Wong will be responsible for developing Old Mutual Global Investors’ Asian strategy.

Her core focus will be to expand the asset manager’s market share in key markets across Asia. Wong became head of distribution, Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia, in 2011 at BNP Paribas Investment Partners.

Jane Fung is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities after 12 years.

Old Mutual Global Investors, which is based in London and Hong Kong, says it aims to grow its assets under management by distributing through a variety of channels – global financial institutions, regional banks and wealth managers – while working with Old Mutual Wealth as the overall wealth business executes its expansion plans in the region.
