Funds Europe, published by Funds Europe Limited, is produced by a dedicated team of professionals with experience of reporting on the European fund markets stretching back over many years.
Nick Fitzpatrick, Group Editor
Nick-Fitzpatrick Nick became editor of Funds Europe in May 2007, having previously been deputy editor on another financial title. He has spent seven years in financial journalism – most of that at FTBusiness – and three years in general news. He also worked as a researcher on the book ‘Great Parliamentary Scandals’ by Matthew Parris. He has a degree in Spanish and spent one year studying at the University of Havana.
Fiona Rintoul, Editorial Director
fiona Fiona was editor of Funds Europe from its inception until June 2005 and is now Editorial Director. A financial journalist specialising in the international investment fund markets, she has 14 years experience of financial publishing and has contributed to personal finance and professional publications in the UK and Germany. Before establishing Funds Europe, she edited a quarterly European fund management journal; at Lipper Limited, she was in charge of European publications.
George Mitton, Deputy Editor
George Motton-new George joined Funds Europe in 2011. He edits two of the group's international publications, Funds Global Asia and Funds Global MENA, and covers global topics for Funds Europe. George studied PPE at Balliol college, Oxford University, and has worked in business journalism for nine years. He has written a book about travel in India, an unpublished novel and articles about music, art and culture. In 2016, George returned to the UK after three years living in Dubai.
Mark Latham, Associate Editor
Mark_Latham Mark joined Funds Europe in 2017 having previously worked as deputy business editor of the Sunday Herald in Glasgow and as a business correspondent for The Sunday Times. He has worked as a journalist for 18 years in a career that has taken him from the Shetland Islands to London, Berlin and Brussels – where he worked as a business correspondent for the newspaper European Voice, since renamed Politico Europe.
Alan Chalmers, Publisher
chalmers_jan10.jpg Alan is a qualified chartered accountant, involved in publishing for 20 years. He co-founded Funds Europe in 2002 while he was managing director of Union Press Limited from 2001 until 2007. He was managing director of Harper Trade Journals Limited for five years from 1996. Previously he was commercial adviser to Lipper Analytical Europe, publisher of The European Fund Directory, and a director of Professional and Business Information Plc, publisher of the UK Fund Industry Directory.
David Wright, Head of Business Development
David_Wright2 David has been involved in the media industry for over 20 years having previously held positions with Nielsen Business Media, Trinity Mirror and Reed Elsevier. He has been involved with a number of financial companies and has covered on-line media, recruitment, display and sponsorship marketing. He was previously the Advertising Director of The Bookseller, the UK’s leading publication for the publishing industry.
Steve Dimitrov, Head of Digital
Steve-Dimitrov Steve joined Funds Europe in January 2011 after having worked as a business services assistant at the Executive Offices Group. Prior to that he managed a number of London bars and restaurants. Steve has a master’s degree in Computer Systems & Technologies.
Michael Fennessy, Circulation Manager
Michael Fennessy Michael joined Funds Europe in February 2013 and is responsible for maintaining and updating our subscriptions and readership records. An important part of Michael's work is ensuring that our readership profile meets the exacting standards of annual audit by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).
Paula Towner, Editorial & Events Co-ordinator
Paula Towner Paula has been with Funds Europe since April 2014. She previously worked at King’s College London in the Alumni & Supporter Relations Office, helping to organise events and raise funds for the college. Prior to this she worked at Lipper for six years as an Office & Marketing Assistant. She’s also worked in various other administration roles in both the Private and Charity sectors.


Funds Europe has an Editorial Advisory Board of industry professionals drawn from different areas of the business and different European geographies. Members are invited on to the board for an initial period of twelve months.
