The internal investment manager of Railways Pension Scheme (RPS), the UK’s sixth largest pension fund, has selected BNP Paribas Securities Services (BNPSS) to manage its dealing activities.
RPMI Railpen’s appointment of BNPPSS follows its decision to bring some of its investment activities in house.
Rachit Sharma, senior investment manager at RPMI Railpen, says: “Our decision to select [BNPPSS] was driven by their team’s expertise across asset classes and their robust technology platform, which will help us develop our new investment process in the long run. We also valued their distinctive broker-neutral positioning and long track record with a wide range of clients.”
RPMI Railpen manages the assets of the RPS on behalf of its parent company, the Railways Pension Trustee Company Limited. Railpen Investments, its investment arm, is an authorised investment manager with assets under management exceeding £21 billion (€29 billion).
