New emerging markets strategy for two JP Morgan CIOs

Emerging markets signJP Morgan Asset Management has launched an emerging markets fund combining investments in debt and equity, named

the JPMorgan Funds - Total Emerging Markets Income Fund.

Domiciled in Luxembourg, the fund will be co-managed by Richard Titherington, chief investment officer, emerging market equities, and Pierre-Yves Bareau, chief investment officer, emerging markets debt.

The duo will adopt a flexible, strategic asset allocation and active risk management through currency overlay and liquidity assessment.

The strategy combines top-down as well as bottom-up insights and targets 6% gross yield.

“Investors are increasingly realising emerging markets can be a source of growth as well as yield, but are mindful of managing volatility,” says Titherington. “Combining debt and equity exposure can offer diversification.”

Titherington and Bareau will be supported by a team of 75 investment professionals across eight locations.
