State Street chooses global sales head

State Street Global Advisors has promoted Lochiel Crafter to head its Global Institutional Group, in which role he will be responsible for distribution around the world.

Crafter previously worked as head of the Boston-based firm’s Asia-Pacific business and fills a post left vacant last year.

In his new post, which will be based in Boston, Crafter will report to Cyrus Taraporevala, president and chief executive of the $2.8 trillion (€2.28 trillion) fund manager.

“Lochiel has a unique background in our industry, including experiences not only on the distribution and investment management front, but also as a client,” said Taraporevala.

“That mix of perspectives is something we’ll benefit greatly from as we continue to focus on serving our clients’ evolving needs.”

Lochiel’s previous post will be filled by James MacNevin.
