Schroders’ former institutional head joins Unigestion

Swiss-based boutique asset manager Unigestion has appointed Miles O’Connor as UK chairman.

O’Connor has previously been a head of Europe, Middle East and Africa institutional business at Schroder Investment Management.

He has also held senior management roles at Barclays Global Investors, where he was head of UK sales and client services, and has spent six years as head of international business development at Bank of America/WorldInvest.

Bernard Sabrier, group chairman of Unigestion, said the hire of O’Connor would help grow the firm in the UK institutional market where Unigestion moved into a new London office earlier this year and increased its headcount from 25-40 in a bit to make London its biggest market outside Switzerland.

Unigestion has assets under management of $20.6 billion (€19.4 billion).
