Santander Asset Management hires absolute return analyst

Santander Asset Management (SAM) has hired Cipriano Sancho to its manager research and selection team.

Sancho, who will be based in Madrid, will work alongside Ángel Lara as an absolute return and alternative strategies analyst.

Sancho joins from BBVA Asset Management Quality Funds, where he was head of quantitative analysis processes and specialised in absolute return funds.

Santander Asset Management recently added another three new recruits to the team.

Last year, Ángel Lara joined the Madrid team from Banco Sabadell, while Wee-Tsen Lee and Pryesh Emrith joined the London selection office. The team now comprises nine people, five of whom work at SAM’s London office and four in Madrid.
