Real estate giant acquires Finnish residential assets

Real estate asset manager AEW has acquired two modern residential apartment blocks in the prime residential Helsinki metropolitan area.

The two buildings comprise 87 apartments across a total of over 5,000 sqm in two separate neighbourhoods in the Finnish capital

One block (pictured) is located in Jatkasaari, one of the city’s largest urban developments, built as a western extension to the city centre. The property is already 99% let.

According to the US real estate asset manager, Jatkasaari is forecast to have 21,000 residents and 6,000 jobs by 2030.

The second apartment block is in Espoo, was developed in 2014, and is 100% let.

AEW – which has €67.6 billion of real estate assets under management – has been investing in residential real estate in Europe for the last 20 years.
