Pimco sponsors gender diversity

Female_traderUS-based bond manager Pimco has become a sponsor of Girls Who Invest, a non-profit organisation which works to increase the number of women in portfolio management and in asset management executive positions.

Girls Who Invest aims to see 30% of the world's investable capital managed by women by 2030.

It helps female college students through an educational programme, meeting industry figures and with work experience at asset management firms.

Pimco investment professionals will speak at Girls Who Invest’s summer programmes at the Universities of Pennsylvania and Notre Dame, as well as hire six of the organisation’s female scholars as interns in Newport Beach, New York and London this summer.

Emmanuel Roman, chief executive of Pimco, said Girls Who Invest’s programme was helping to build a “robust pipeline of female investment talent” and would lead to better outcomes for clients.
