Pensions infrastructure platform has new chairman

The Pensions Infrastructure Platform (PiP) has appointed Tony Poulter as chair.

Until recently, Poulter was global head of consulting at PwC and previously head of the firm’s project finance team.

Originally a civil servant, Poulter has worked for 30 years in the infrastructure sector. He also spent three years running PwC’s advisory business in Asia Pacific.

He is also senior independent director at the Green Investment Bank and a non-executive board member at the Department for Transport.

PiP is an infrastructure investment platform, developed “by and for” UK pension schemes to invest in UK infrastructure.

The platform was set up in 2011 to facilitate institutional investment into UK infrastructure with an initial target of mobilising £2 billion (€2.3 billon).

Pip’s outgoing chair is Joanne Segars, who is the current chief executive of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association. She will remain on the board of PiP.
