NN IP appoints head of alternative credit

Dutch fund manager NN Investment Partners (NN IP) has appointed Niels Bodenheim as head of alternative credit.

He takes over from the firm’s chief investment officer Valentijn van Nieuwenhuijzen who has been interim head of the department since the departure of Han Rijken, who left the company to pursue a career elsewhere.

Based in The Hague – where the firm is headquartered – Bodenheim will be responsible for overseeing the asset manager’s alternative credit platform made up of classes such as corporate debt, residential mortgages, commercial real estate lending, government loans and more. He will report to Van Nieuwenhuijzen.

Bodenheim joins from London-based investment consulting firm bfinance where he was senior director of the private markets department, responsible for private debt and overseeing the company’s credit research services.

Before that, he spent 14 years at General Electric (GE) in various executive roles across GE Capital, Mubadala GE Capital, GE Corporate Finance Bank, and GE Healthcare Financial Services.
