Natixis IM increases northern Europe drive with new hire

Natixis Investment Managers has signaled an increased focus on Nordic and other countries in the region with the appointment of a former State Street institutional sales head to lead business in northern Europe. The role is newly created.

The Paris-based asset manager has hired Andrew Benton to lead a team responsible for developing institutional business across Nordics, Netherlands, Ireland and the UK.

At State Street Benton was head of UK institutional with responsibility for sales, client and consultant relations and he has previously held roles at Baring, Schroders, RCM and Royal London Asset Management in a 25-year career.

The job is based in London and Benton reports to Oliver Bilal, global head of sales and marketing.

Bilal said northern Europe was a key focus for Natixis IM and Benton said the firm he is joining was already well-established in the region.

Natixis, which also has a headquarters in Boston, US, had €861 billion of assets under management at September 30, 2018, and is listed in Paris.
