Natixis IM boasts “historic” panel for investment summit

Natixis Investment Managers says it has assembled an “historic” panel of speakers for its first investment summit.

Five former heads of state or of government will take part in the Paris event, including Matteo Renzi, the former Italian Prime Minister, Nicolas Sarkozy, the former French President, and Gerhard Schröder, the former German Chancellor.

Juan Manuel Santos, a previous president of Colombia, and a Jordanian prince, Zeid Ra’ad Al-Hussein – who is also a former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights – will also take part at the November 7 summit in Paris.

Natixis IM said there will be 70 “leading experts and unconventional thinkers from around the world discussing themes underlying ‘The New Geopolitical World Order’”.

Over 500 people are due to attend the event.

“The Natixis Investment Managers Summit is designed to embody how we do business in the asset management world, bringing a wide range of expert voices together to challenge conventional thinking. Our speakers are diverse and sometimes unconventional and provocative, but always insightful and willing to challenge the status quo,” said Jean Raby, chief executive officer of the asset manager.

The main discussion of the summit will be called ‘The World in the Making: A Presidential Perspective’, and will feature “a remarkable and historic dialogue” between three former European heads of state or government: Renzi, Sarkozy, Schröder.

Former Prime Minister of Belgium and current Brexit negotiator for the EU Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt,  is another big hitter and will talk about the future of Europe, and the UK’s former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling will take part in a discussion about the aftermath of the financial crisis.
