MFS strengthens Swiss and Austrian sales team

MFS has announced the appointment of Anton Commissaris as managing director and head of sales for Switzerland and Austria.

Based in the firm’s Zürich office, he will report to Matthew Weisser, managing director and head of European wholesale distribution.

Commissaris joins the firm from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was in charge of fund distribution to Europe, Middle East and Africa, distributing to banks, insurance firms, external asset managers and family offices. In total, he has over 24 years’ experience in the Swiss wholesale market.

A spokesperson for the firm said Commissaris’ appointment was part of a renewed push into the Swiss and Austrian markets.

MFS manages assets of $445.8 billion (€400 billion) as of December 31 2015.
