Maitland appoints paper industry boss to board

Fund administration firm Maitland has appointed David Hathorn, until recently the chief executive of packaging and paper giant Mondi, as a non-executive director.

In his new role, Hathorn will also act as chairman of Maitland’s audit and risk committee.

During Hathorn’s 17 years as Mondi chief executive he was instrumental in the group’s international expansion and led it through a demerger from Anglo American in 2007.

He was previously an executive director of Anglo American and served on the boards of a number of Anglo group companies.

Michael Solomon, Maitland’s chairman, said: “David brings to the boardroom not only significant corporate leadership experience but also more intimate insights into the firm from a client perspective.”
