Macquarie boosts German distribution push

Macquarie Investment Management has appointed Markus Rottler head of wholesale distribution for the German professional buyer market.

Rottler is based in the firm’s Munich office and most recently worked at Columbia Threadneedle as director of institutional sales.

Prior to that, he spent seven years at Pioneer Investments in a number of portfolio management and client-facing roles.

Steve Haswell, head of distribution for Macquarie Investment Management’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division, said Rottler’s addition was “very welcome”, as the German professional buyers market was not an area the firm had historically covered.

The Macquarie group manages assets of $371 billion (€332.65 billion) of as of June 30 2016.
