LGIM appoints chief risk officer

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed Margaret Ammon as chief risk officer.

Joining from M&G, where she has been chief risk officer for the firm’s asset management business, she replaces Simon Pistell who took up the post in 2015 and moved to become chief risk officer at L&G Capital earlier this year.

Based in London and reporting to chief executive Michelle Scrimgeour, Ammon will be responsible for the oversight and development of the UK fund manager’s risk functions at a global level.

Ammon has over 20 years’ industry experience and has held various senior roles. Prior to joining M&G, she was chief risk officer at Colonial First State Global Asset Management. She has also been head of risk for Schroders and chief risk officer at Old Mutual Asset Managers.

Scrimgeour said: “Her proven track record in building global risk oversight models, coupled with a strong understanding of practical application within differing asset classes and markets, will be an invaluable addition to our business.”
