Kames Capital has appointed Philip Bach to the newly created role of head of active value property at the firm. He will report to Kames’ property investment director David Wise.
Bach, who according to the firm has played a key role in the growth of Kames’ active value range which has more than £800 million (€913 million) of client assets invested, will be responsible for all investment-related activity associated with the funds.
These funds include the Kames Active Value Property Fund (open ended), UK Active Value Property Unit Trust and Active Value Property Fund II (both closed ended).
The Kames’ active value range targets the good quality secondary commercial property market, for instance those properties in the £5m to £15m price bracket.
Bach has 23 years’ industry experience and joined Kames Capital in 2012 from ING Real Estate Investment Management, where he was co-head of the direct segregated accounts team. Before this, he was an asset manager for Jones Lang LaSalle, where he undertook the strategic asset management of the property assets in the BT and Royal Mail pension funds.
Wise said: “Property has been a key focus for Kames for many years, with investor interest remaining particularly strong in the market segment we target.”
