Julius Baer strengthens London Office

Swiss private bank Julius Baer International has bolstered its London office with three hires, Loris Vallone, Luke Downes and Ella Riesco.

Vallone was previously head of the firm’s Italian domestic market team and moved to London to develop the firm’s service offering, according to Julius Baer. Previously he had been at Credit Suisse until 2011.

Downes joins the firm from Sanlam Private Wealth, where he was head of global clients. In his London role, he will lead a team of portfolio managers and report to Edward Raymond, head of portfolio management for the UK at Julius Baer.

Riesco joins from investment manager Ruffer and is now head of marketing and communications for the UK. She had previously been at Alliance Trust Investments.

David Durlacher, CEO of Julius Baer International, said these appointments demonstrated the firm’s commitment to the UK market.
