Janus Henderson rolls out sustainable equity fund

London-based fund manager Janus Henderson Investors has set up a sustainable equity Ucits fund domiciled in Luxembourg, geared toward responsible investing.

The fund is multi-thematic and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a strategy that is “explicitly low carbon”, according to the firm.

Denominated in US dollars, the Janus Henderson Horizon Global Sustainable Equity Fund will employ the same investment approach as the UK-domiciled Global Sustainable Equity OEIC, launched in 1991.

Lead portfolio manager will be Hamish Chamberlayne, who has managed the strategy since 2011.

“The defining issue of our time – climate change – will require us to transition to a low-carbon and sustainable economy, while maintaining the levels of productivity necessary to deliver goods and services,” Chamberlayne said.
