Investec boosts multi-asset team

Investec Asset Management has appointed a former Standard Life Investments (SLI) portfolio manager to its multi-asset team.

The firm said the appointment of Imran Ahmad, who becomes a multi-asset portfolio manager in a newly created role, represented further growth for the 32-strong team.

Ahmad was previously a portfolio manager of an emerging market debt fund, called the EMD Unconstrained Fund, at SLI.

He will report to Russell Silberston, head of multi-asset absolute return, who said: “In addition to helping build our absolute return strategy, Imran will be an active participant in our rates and FX [foreign exchange] and macro research groups, two crucial building blocks in our wider multi-asset strategies.”

Investec Asset Management has over $145 billion (€119.8 billion) in assets under management.
