Invesco equity manager becomes CIO

Invesco’s European equity fund manager Stephanie Butcher is to become the firm’s chief investment officer following Nick Mustoe’s decision to step down.

Based in Henley in the UK, Butcher will work alongside Mustoe for three months and take over the role completely at the beginning of next year.

Butcher has over 25 years of industry experience and began her investment career at Lazard Asset Management. She joined Invesco back in 2003.

Mustoe – who has been at the helm of the firm’s Henley team for ten years – called Butcher an investor of “high calibre” and praised her “exceptional” leadership qualities.

Invesco, whose global headquarters are in Atlanta in the US, recently launched five low cost euro government bond exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in Europe.
