Invesco continues to expand its London-based ETF business development team with the appointment of former Amundi sales associate Hamid Assefar.
Assefar replaces Ash Daghestani, who left Invesco during 2018 to join Lyxor Asset Management.
In his new role, Assefar will focus on building Invesco’s ETF business with UK asset managers and family offices. He will report to Ravinder Azad, the firm’s director of UK business development.
This move is the latest in a series of appointments in London designed to drive the expansion of Invesco’s ETF range. Assefar’s appointment expands the UK ETF sales team to five people.
In September, the company made two new additions to its ETF portfolio management team to meet growing investor demand for fixed-income ETFs.
Invesco’s UK head of ETF business development Kate Dwyer said the expansion reflects continued appetite from UK institutional investors, including asset managers and family offices, for its range of low-cost ETFs.
Prior to joining Invesco, Assefar was sales and marketing associate within the ETF indexing and smart beta team at Amundi. Before that, he was a member of the trading strategy team at Credit Suisse.
