Frederick Widl gets Axa IM Swiss promotion

Axa Investment Managers’ real assets business has appointed Frederick Widl as country head for Switzerland.

Widl will take up the role in February 2019 and Ernst Schaufelberger, the current Swiss head, plans to retire in January after 14 years in the role.

Widl already works for Axa IM. He joined the firm in 2011 as a development project manager, before being promoted to head of transactions in Switzerland in 2013.

Switzerland is Axa IM real asset’s business second largest country by asset value, with over €13 billion of assets under management there.

The firm also said that its real assets business planned to grow its managed portfolio and invest in acquisitions, refurbishments and new developments.
